The Captain by Van-Schneider The Captain by Van-Schneider
He strode down the moonlit street, his footsteps echoing in time to the wavelets lapping at the rocks. A slight yet chill breeze searched his pea jacket for chinks, and he turned up his collar, reluctantly. He was getting old, was no longer the young upstart who had run off to the sea at the raw age of 13. Oh, what times those had been! His service aboard the merchant ship Surity, had ended before it had barely started, its crew slaughtered almost to the last man by Captain BlackBones and his savage shipmates. He was one of the few whom they had spared, taking him into service aboard the Revenge...
He paused, standing in the lamp light, oblivious to the cold as he once again relived that life, sailing from one end of the carribean to the other, searching out prizes. Indeed, it was not until the noise had repeated itself many times over that he heard it; The flap of boots against the cobblestones, coming his way. He turned, and stared into the darkness, with the footsteps drawing closer, ever closer....

Striking and beautiful. The atmosphere is great and I love the use of B/W and the very personal way you did the Captain's face.

indeed, yes, I used that guy for a model. But I assure you, the difference is quite pronounced ;)
I'm not quite to the point where I can draw faces in perspective without reference.

Yes, the differences are indeed quite pronounced, but the resemblance is still there. Though it is very firmly your own work. And really good, at that!
